Trip to Peru - Day 1
This is a picture of Catie and Evie at the kids’ basketball game the day I left.
I left DFW airport on a flight to Miami at around 8:00pm, even though the flight was scheduled for 6:20pm. So the first day was already late. The flight was around 3 hours, and was just like you would imagine.
When we got the tickets, they were originally set up for us to leave on the 7th, but we had to move it to the 9th because Andrew had to be in San Francisco for the week. When the tickets were moved, I was told they were the exact same as before, just different days, so hey, that works out great.
I landed in Miami, turned on my cell, and got a message from Andrew. He said that he was there at the gate and waiting, so as soon as I got off the plane, I walked down to his gate. I was there about 15 min to boarding time, so I thought that was very lucky. But following the days luck the plane there was 2 hours late also.
Just before we decided to board, Andrew and I looked at what seats we had and noticed we weren’t sitting together. Then andrew saw it, the flight number on my ticket was different than his. There was two flights leaving Miami that night at the exact same time, and I missed mine. So we ran to the counter and we were able to get a ticket to Lima on the same plane as Andrew. But, she said that bags wouldn’t follow me, and that I would have to file for the bags when I got to Lima.
The flight was 6 hours, which is not to bad. It left at 1:00am that night/morning and I had a hard time sleeping on that cramped plane. They just don’t make those seats for 6’ 2’’ people, and that made for a long flight.
