We had our first space derby with Mikey and the scout troop. The actual event snuck up on us, so Tessa had to make most of the rocket with a little help from Mikey. Long story short, we came home with 1st place.

The rocket started taking shape this morning. I came home to visit, and Tessa was going at the block with the dremmel tool. She was very worried about its shape, and to be honest, it was kinda misshapen.

Under pressure to get it done, Tessa pressed on.

When we got to the church, we were all nervous. When the gates when down on the first heat with Mikey’s rocket, it took off passing all the other rockets. We were really surprised. After winning 3 of his 5 heats, Mikey got the first place metal.

Turns out Tessa is a natural rocket maker. It was a really fun night.
