February is a busy month
February is a really busy month our family. We have Tessa’s Birthday, Dad’s Birthday, Mom and Dad’s Anniversary, and Gary and Nan’s Birthday. The kids helped blow out the candles, and dad had a little too much fun with my son’s sugar addiction.
Another fun evening this last week, when mom invited us to her house for dinner and cake. The kids are always excited about the cake, and helping blow out the candles.
I think the tradition of kids blowing out candles was started with Catie. I will have to look it up and post it separately, but we were at Mom’s house when it happened. We were at a birthday party and when the person inhaled for the blowing out of the candles, Catie jumped onto the table and speed crawled over to the cake, and blew them out. It was really funny.
Back to the party, there was one sad moment. If you have been around Dad very much, you will know he has a secret desire to create mayhem amongst his kids and his grandkids. It started at desert. Somehow, Mikey was able to get 3 pieces of cake out of granddad, who was smiling silently at the head of the table. Well, if you know Mikey, you have already imagined the rest of the story. He went wild… At one point, Tessa finally had to step in and tackle him, give him the bear hug, and calm him down. It was all very fun, and Dad really enjoyed watching us chase Mikey around.
Tessa has a way with our boys that is amazing. She has taken some seriously challenged boys, and helped get them ready for school and life. I don’t think anyone could do better. It was apparent that night, when she was able to calm Mikey down with just a few minutes. I love you Tessa, Thanks.
