Nan and Gary have a dog named Harley.  Harley, a black lab, is a very rambunctious, but good dog.  But when Harley is left alone, without friends to play with, he “plays” with our chickens.

He “played” with one of our chickens this week when we were all out at a softball game.  We were all really sad.  We were very happy to wake up the next morning and find out that all of the chickens, except the one, were all home.

So, the best part was what the Clarks did to make up for it.  They brought over a cake that was shaped in to a dead chicken, and a card.  The card said:

Thinking of you in this time of sorrow

Nan:  We are so sorry that we’re responsible for your loss.  Hope this brings you comfort.

Gary:  It’s so sad to see someone go who is so young with so many eggs ahead of her!  Snif Snif.
