I was telling mom about how many chickens we had, and decided to take some pictures and show them off. We started this about a year ago with six hens, now with a few added on here and there and us hatching some of our own, we are up to 24 chickens.

Here is the progression so far:

1. 6 original purchase
2. 1 Died (thats 5)
3. Purchased 7 more (thats 12)
4. 3 got eaten by bobcats (thats 9)
5. Shot the bobcat
6. Purchased 6 Rhode Island Red chicks (Thats 15)
7. Purchased 6 other chicks (Thats 21)
8. 4 Chicks died (Thats 17)
9. 5 Chicks hatched (Thats 22)
10. Catie brought 2 chicks from school (thats 24 chickens)

Our family has had a lot of fun raising chickens. We get plenty of eggs, by the end of this year, we may be overrun by eggs, but we will be able to share them around.
